This October, I’m heading back to the water for Fall Minis at Few’s Ford on the Eno River and Falls Lake!
These locations have given me some of the most beautiful sessions throughout the warmer months, and I cannot wait to experience them surrounded by the softer light, cooler temperatures, and changing colors of fall.

Fall River Minis at Few’s Ford on the Eno
October 11th, 2026 | Near Sunset
There is something magical about photographing families along the Eno River.
Few’s Ford gives us a beautiful combination of wooded trails, natural textures, river views, and plenty of room for children to explore. Instead of a perfectly posed session, we can create portraits filled with movement, connection, snuggles, laughter, and all of those little in-between moments that make your family yours.
By October, the summer heat begins to fade and the landscape starts transitioning into fall. Add in that gorgeous golden evening light, and it becomes such a beautiful setting for updated family portraits.
Depending on the weather and your family, we may even wander toward the water and dip a few toes into the river!

Fall Lakeside Minis at Falls Lake

Falls Lake has become one of my favorite locations for family portraits because there is so much variety in one beautiful setting. We can photograph along the shoreline, use the surrounding trees and natural landscape, and finish with that dreamy golden light reflecting across the water.
Late October makes this location even more special.
Cooler temperatures, warm fall tones, cozy layers, long flowing dresses, and a beautiful sunset over the lake create the perfect recipe for timeless family portraits.
And while summer lake sessions often feel playful and carefree, fall at Falls Lake has an entirely different personality—warm, peaceful, cozy, and beautifully timeless.

River or Lake—Which One Is Calling You?
This might be the hardest part!
Choose the Eno River if you love wooded trails, river rocks, natural textures, exploring, and an earthy, storybook feeling.
Choose Falls Lake if you love open water, shoreline portraits, expansive skies, flowing dresses, and gorgeous sunset light.
You truly cannot go wrong with either.
More importantly, both locations give us the opportunity to step away from the distractions of everyday life for a little while and simply document your family together.

These sessions are being added to the calendar because so many of you have asked for more opportunities at the river and lake.
But I am keeping them intentionally limited.
There will only be a small number of appointments available at each location so every session can take place close to sunset when the light is at its most beautiful.
